Industry information
The purpose of using coatings in titanium stamping forming!

Titanium plate is similar to other materials in the forming process. When necessary, coatings and lubricants are applied to certain parts of the mold on the surface of raw materials and pre formed parts to reduce friction between parts and tools, reduce scratches, improve product quality, and extend tool life. Especially during hot forming, coatings not only alleviate the severe friction between parts and molds at high temperatures, but also protect the surface of parts, avoiding and reducing oxidation.

In summary, the purpose of using coatings in titanium sheet stamping is to:

1. Improve the surface quality of parts;

2. Protect titanium parts from oxidation;

3. Reduce the pressure required for forming;

4. Extend the lifespan of the mold;

5. Control the flow of materials during the deformation process.

Coatings should generally have the following properties:

1. Good anti-corrosion performance, free of harmful ingredients, and will not cause pollution to materials;

2. Has a certain degree of adhesion and is easy to apply;

3. Having sufficient strength, the coating is not easily damaged during use;

4. Has good lubrication performance;

5. Easy to clear;

6. Harmless to the health of operators;

7. Low cost.

So titanium alloy plate manufacturers can divide the coatings used for forming into two categories according to different usage conditions, namely coatings used for room temperature forming (cold forming) and coatings used for high-temperature forming.
